We have a fabulous line-up of special guests this year, including:

  • 2019 ThrillerMaster John Sandford
  • 2018 Silver Bullet Award recipient James Rollins

The special guest(s) will be announced soon, along with the 2019 Silver Bullet Award recipient.

We have something for everyone, whether you’re an aspiring author, a fan, an industry professional, or an ITW author. Some of the highlights include:

  • Master Class: An extraordinary opportunity for writers and authors to meet and learn from the best in the industry in a full day of teaching, including a critique of 10 manuscript pages on Tuesday.
  • CraftFest: A host of subject matter experts and phenomenal teachers helping authors improve their knowledge and writing craft in a classroom setting during hour-long sessions throughout the day Wednesday and Thursday morning.
  • ConsultFest: ConsultFest will be available throughout CraftFest and ThrillerFest where attendees can meet for 15 minutes, one-on-one with an industry leading expert.  Recruiting the top acquiring editors and agents for this opportunity, writers will get instant feedback on his or her query letter or first two pages of a manuscript.  The writer will be assigned a time with the expert who will read the writer’s work, provide comments about first impressions, and offer feedback for improvements.
  • PitchFest: An incredible opportunity for writers to pitch their manuscripts to over 60 of the best agents, publishers, and editors in the industry on Thursday afternoon. (Note: Registration for PitchFest is an additional cost to Master Class, CraftFest or ThrillerFest and cannot be purchased as a stand-alone event for writers.)
  • ThrillerFest: A wonderful opportunity to meet bestselling thriller authors and other industry experts, starting with the Opening Night Cocktail Party on Thursday evening, and continuing with panels, interviews, and autograph sessions on Friday and Saturday.
  • The Thriller Awards Banquet, which is an added feature on the registration options, provides an opportunity for attendees to witness the presentation of the Thriller Awards on Saturday night, the closing event. This is an amazing experience for both the readers and authors and should not be missed.

Volunteers are an integral part of the ThrillerFest experience. We couldn’t do it without you. If you are attending the conference and would like to volunteer, just answer “Yes” when registering to the question “Would you be willing to help as a volunteer?” Volunteering is a great way to meet people and get involved in ITW.

We look forward to seeing you next July in NYC!

Bio:

Chased by a Cape Buffalo in Botswana and then by a corrupt governor in Tennessee. Abducted by a black market money changer in Mombasa. Spent one New Years Eve in Paradise Bay, Antarctica; another in the Himalayas. Is this from the plot of a novel? Nope. It’s Rob Sangster’s life.

And throw in swimming with Humpback whales, spending the night on top of a Mayan temple in Tikal, Guatemala, and traveling in seven continents and more than 100 countries – all of which were more important to him than earning the last possible dollar. And that attitude led inevitably to . . . becoming a writer. [Read more…]
