E-book Giveaway for Initiated to Kill

I’m excited to announce that I am giving away 5 copies of my E-book – Initiated to Kill.

INITIATED TO KILL tells the story of an infamous historical serial killer, connecting to present-day events in Seville, Spain. Annabella Cordova quickly becomes embroiled in the conspiracy involving the university she studies at. Her life is turned into chaos when her friend disappears, seven days later a gruesome package is delivered to Andres Valero; the troubled detective, returning from forced leave, only to be faced with horrific crimes that brings his memories to the surface.

I’m also currently seeking reviews for my 90,579 historical/21st century psychological, international conspiracy thriller.

Annabella’s past collides with her present, a traumatic childhood event leaving her deaf and without both of her parents. Her ability to read facial and body language in people leads her to discover parallels from an earlier century.

Annabella and Andres must use their skills to track a brilliant killer; a psychopath exploring the mind and actions of an infamous serial killer, and how his crimes are linked to a controversial conspiracy, only he can unravel.

The novel continuously takes the reader back in time to the 19th century; creating a psychological profile of the serial killer that wanders the London streets, his paintings depicting crimes only seen by a killer’s eyes.

Annabella  and Andres combined must stop this person at any cost, and reveal a conspiracy hidden for centuries.

Win A Signed Copy of The Consultant by Tj O’Connor

The Consultant by Tj O’Connor from Oceanview Publishing.

    Rogue terrorism consultant.
    His dead brother.
    A beautiful Persian refugee.
    Iran. Russian.
    Terror. Fear. Prejudice.
America’s heading back to war. Someone has to stop it.

Jonathan Hunter, a rogue CIA consultant AWOL from his Middle East assignment, returns home to witness his brother Kevin’s horrific murder. For fifteen years, Hunter and Kevin were silent—until Kevin uttered his final words … Khalifah … Not Them … Maya …

Launched into the hunt for Kevin’s killer, Hunter stumbles into a series of horrifying terrorist attacks—all at the hands of Middle Eastern refugees—that spark a backlash across the country and threaten another war. In the shadows, Hunter’s mentor, the omnipotent Oscar LaRue, is playing a dangerous game with Russian Intelligence. All the while, neither Hunter nor LaRue understand that a new threat—the Iranian threat—has entered the game. As stakes rise, two shadowy players are one-step ahead of Hunter—Khalifah, a dangerous and terrorist mastermind, and Caine, a nomadic assassin who only dances with the highest bidder. As the attacks escalate and the country drifts toward another Middle East war, innocent refugees become the victims between the terrorists and the terrorized. Prejudice, hate, and fear vent everywhere—is this who we’ve become? Before the country explodes, Hunter must find Khalifah, learn the target of the next terrorist attack, and pray he’s in time to stop it.

The Consultant is a flat out, dynamite read.  Fast paced, compelling, and all too real.  O’Connor writes with authority and the pages fly by almost too quickly.  My favorite kind of thriller, reminiscent of the best Ludlum and Forsyth.”

I’ve had a resurgent interest in anything WWII because of a well researched book about the drug use that fueled Nazi Germany. The author, Ohler, claims that not only did many German soldiers and civilians use methamphetamine in pill form, but that Adolf Hitler himself regularly used drugs, including cocaine, morphine and heroin. I had no idea that drug consumption/addiction played an important role in WWII and now I see war history from a very different perspective.

I am a History buff and especially love WW ll since my father fought in 7 major battles and made the military his career. My father was a company commander in the 34th Division that fought in North Africa and Italy. The Red Bull Division had the most battle days of any American Division in the War. This time period has always been a huge part of my life, so I always try to find some good historical fiction relating to the War.

Medical Thriller “Yellow Death” by Alex Lettau – Two chances to win a signed copy

Roundtable pic Because the war on drugs is not going well, the DEA initiates a secret project mixing a lethal Venezuelan hepatitis virus into heroin, rationalizing that a few deaths from a new type of hepatitis will deter drug abuse in many. When Dr. Kris Jensen, a medical detective with the CDC’s Hepatitis Division, arrives in Mississippi to investigate rapidly fatal hepatitis in two drug users, she doesn’t expect to become a victim. Two days after an accidental needlestick, she realizes that she is now infected with this unknown lethal virus and has only five days left to find answers to its origin. Jensen’s investigation takes her into the depths of a web of drug use and revenge murders, tracked by assassins who are determined to keep her from finding the truth.

Win a copy of Athenian Blues, the 1st in the Stratos Gazis crime series

    Athenian Blues

Stratos hates being called a hitman. A conscientious fixer is what he is. He fixes problems that very few can deal with. Things that people are willing to pay handsomely to get done, without wanting to know about the small stuff. Stratos is their man, provided that his meticulous research shows him that the targets deserve their fate.

But now, in the midst of the Greek economic and political crisis, this film-noir loving assassin takes on the highest-profile case of his career. He finds himself caught between the most beloved lawyer in Greece, known as “the guardian of the poor”, and his actress wife, the most desirable woman in the country. They are both in dire need of his killing services, but which one is telling the truth? Helped by three childhood friends, Costas Dragas, a homicide cop, Teri, a transsexual high-class hooker and Maria, the passion of his life, he discovers that truth, in shattered loves and broken families, is, as ever, a relative thing.

“Noir fans will look forward to the next installment.” – Publishers Weekly

“Stratos narrates with bare honesty and unexpected wit, revealing Athens’ gritty side and introducing readers to his endearing and resourceful tribe of lifelong friends.” – Booklist

“Will attract fans of international crime fiction with an edge. Admirers of Lawrence Block’s “Hit Man” series may also want to try this book about a killer with a conscience.” – Library Journal

“Twists and turns will keep you riveted to the end. Pol Koutsakis’ second Stratos Gazis mystery, Baby Blue, will be published next year by Bitter Lemon. I can’t wait.” – EuroLitNetwork

To enter, simply leave a comment below. To double your chances of winning, post within your comment the answer to the question: “Teri, a high-class transsexual lady of the night, plays an important role in Athenian Blues. Where does her name come from?”

The contest will end Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 at 12 a.m. PDT.  The winner will be chosen at random.

The winner of the giveaway is Marvin Carter. Marvin, congratulations – please send an email to books@bitterlemonpress.com noting that you won the contest and give the publisher an address where they can send you the book. Enjoy!

Death in Nostalgia City: two chances to win a signed copy

Enter with a comment below for a chance to win one of two signed copies of Death in Nostalgia City.  Winner will be selected Oct. 6, 2017.

Murder at a retro theme park

Nost. City Brite-title-web-optiminzed.Nostalgia City theme park re-creates a small town from the 1970s in every detail: cars, music, rides, clothes, food, shops, restaurants, fads—the works. But when rides are sabotaged and tourists killed and injured, an unlikely duo is persuaded to investigate.  Lyle Deming is an anxiety-prone ex-cop, now driving a Nostalgia City cab to escape the stress of police work.  Kate Sorensen is a 6’ 2½” former college basketball star, now theme park PR director.  She must play spin doctor and help investigate at the same time.

The two likeable characters slowly learn each other’s strengths and work together. Their investigation of corporate greed and murder lead them from the Arizona theme park to downtown Boston where they go undercover at a giant conglomerate to find the evidence they need to save the park.

The book is mixture of mystery and suspense.  It’s filled with twists and turns and interim puzzles the protagonists must solve—and action, a little violence, and challenges that put the protagonists in peril.

Award winner at the 2015 San Francisco Book Festival.
