Virtual ThrillerFest 2020

The Year’s Premier Event for Thriller Enthusiasts.
Now celebrating our FIFTEENTH conference (Online Only)!

Due to the pandemic this year, we’ve canceled the in-person ThrillerFest Conference at the Grand Hyatt in New York City this July. The health and safety of our attendees is our top priority.

But we have fantastic news! We are offering a virtual conference so our attendees can remain safe in the comfort of their homes yet still participate in the learning and camaraderie that is the hallmark of the annual conference of the International Thriller Writers. No travel, no hotel stay, but an even more extensive array of bestselling ITW authors who can help you polish your thrillers and top drawer New York agents and editors to whom you can pitch—along with attractive prices!

We have an outstanding array of guests and publishing professionals, with this year’s event including a Free Debut Authors’ Presentation, Free ITW Author Videos, and a Free Awards Presentation.

Our Mega CraftFest, Master Class, Pitching Sessions, Consulting Sessions, and CareerFest will all be offered this July.

How does it all work?

You’ll only pay for the events you would like to attend. If you register for either Master Class or Mega CraftFest, you can attend CareerFest. If you register for Master Class, you’ll need to download Zoom (free) and try out the app before attending. You do not have to have a webcam, but having one will offer a more personal experience rather than just listening to the audio version. For our Mega CraftFest, a private YouTube channel will be created so you can watch the sessions at your leisure, and the sessions will be released during the week of ThrillerFest.

All times shown are Eastern Daylight Time!

PitchFest – SOLD OUT!

We’re offering a one-time unique concept where we hold virtual Pitching Sessions. These sessions will be held via Zoom (free download) in a private Zoom room with one attendee (you) and one agent/editor. A tech host will be there to make sure everything goes smoothly. We want to create an intimate experience, the best we can do for a face-to-face meeting under the circumstances. The benefits of this style of pitching? No standing in line as with the in-person event!

Writers with a finished manuscript will pitch their work for 5-7 minutes to an agent or editor. If the editor or agent is interested in your pitch, he/she will request pages of your work. Once you sign up, we will do our best to pair you with your choices, but we offer no guarantees. There are a limited number of experts, and pairings will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. You can purchase up to seven pitching appointments and specify your top three choices from the list of available agents. We’ll do our very best to match you according to your specifications, but there are NO GUARANTEES!

Times: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (each day)

*Pitching Sessions – Price: $50 per session (limit 7 sessions)

ConsultFest – SOLD OUT!

We’re also offering a unique opportunity for Consulting Sessions. These sessions will be held via Zoom (free download) in a private Zoom room with one attendee (you) and one agent/editor. We’re trying to recreate an intimate face-to-face meeting the best way we can under the circumstances.

These consulting sessions are ideal for writers who are not yet ready to “pitch” a completed manuscript, but would like to discuss their synopsis, their query letters, and writing samples for 10-15 minutes with agents and editors. Our experts will provide helpful feedback and advice, and answer questions. But no pitching, please. You can purchase up to five Consulting Sessions and specify your top three choices from the list of available consultants. We’ll do our very best to match you to some of your top choices, but there are NO GUARANTEES!
